About your GuideMy name is Dirk Joubert. I was born in Namibia (Windhoek) but grew up in Stellenbosch (South Africa). I was a High School Teacher for 22 years, and my specialist subject is Geography in which I have a honours degree from the University of Stellenbosch. I also studied History until third-year level.

I have travelled this country (and Namibia) extensively and have a thorough knowledge of its physical attractions, people, places of accommodation, transport routes and systems, climate, game parks and adrenalin activities.

As a Teacher, I had 22 years of experience in the organising of school sports tours, both locally and abroad. I have organised and travelled with sports tours to Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth on occasions too many to count. I have also organised and accompanied sports tours to the U.K, Australia and New Zealand. I regularly organised sporting tours to Cape Town and surrounds for schools and clubs from the U.K, Argentina, New Zealand and other.

In 2005 I left teaching and started a business called Cape Panoramic Tours. In 2013, I decided to change the name to “DJ Tours & Safaris”. I also do schools that travel overseas, and that component of the business, I call “Blue Jeans Travel”. This still operates under “DJ Tours & Safaris” (PTY) LTD.

As far as “DJ Tours & Safaris” is concerned, my mission is to create an affordable opportunity with personal attention for tourists to come to South Africa, to experience the awesome beauty and excitement of this wonderful country. Also, to experience the diverse culture of its population, which makes this country so unique and exciting!

If you are happy with English, I will guide the Tour myself. I also have a database of fully qualified national/regional guides who can cater for English, Afrikaans, Czech, Dutch, Polish, Chinese, French, German, Hungarian, Portuguese, Spanish, Slovakian, etc. guests. Any other language could also be catered for.

I have STO agreements with all the Major Hotel and Transport Groups. I personally do the ground arrangements and thus ensure there are no mistakes. My overhead costs are therefore low and my profit margins, therefore, lower than the norm.
